AW85 Issey Miyake Men Waxed Cropped Bomber Moto Jacket

Issey Miyake started creating menswear in 1976, presenting them alongside the house's womenswear mainline, before becoming its own standalone brand in 1978 known as ISSEY MIYAKE MEN. Seven years later, the label made its Paris debut in February 1985 for the Autumn/Winter 1985 season. Designed under Issey Miyake before later passing through the hands of Naoki Takizawa, Dai Fujiwara, the Miyake Design Studio team, and Yusuke Takahashi, ISSEY MIYAKE MEN became known for its joyful, experimental, and forward-thinking approach to menswear.

After its final years under Takahashi, the line shuttered in 2020 to make way for newer menswear possibilities and formats in the future with HOMME PLISSE ISSEY MIYAKE took over responsibility for the Paris menswear showings. Since there is virtually no information about AW85, let’s take a look at more photos of this stunning piece of history.
