Number Nine/TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist

Number (N)ine, founded by Takahiro Miyashita in Tokyo in 1997, became a cult label celebrated for its raw, music-inspired aesthetic and intricate layering. The brand often referenced rock culture, especially the spirit of grunge, while blending sharp tailoring with distressed, lived-in details. After closing Number (N)ine in 2009, Miyashita launched Takahiromiyashita TheSoloist in 2010, continuing his exploration of individuality and emotion through clothing. TheSoloist emphasizes experimental construction, asymmetry, and poetic references, pushing the boundaries between fashion and personal expression. Both labels reflect Miyashita’s deeply personal vision, resonating with those drawn to storytelling, subculture, and a singular approach to design.
