Undercover Spring/Summer 2021 menswear collection was a digital tapestry woven with threads of introspection and rebellion. Titled "2020," the show emerged as a spectral reflection of our times, where the tangible and intangible intertwine in a dance of pixels and perception as the world came to a standstill.

Jun Takahashi’s decision to present this collection through 3D renders was a creative circumvention of the constraints imposed by the pandemic. In place of live models, rendered avatars inhabited his vision, allowing audiences to rotate and dissect the garments from every angle. It was an immersive, almost haunting experience—one that mirrored the way reality itself had begun to feel simulated. “During this time, I really began to get a sense that my views towards work, doubts about the structure of daily life, and society as a whole, were experiencing major changes,” Takahashi mused.

For SS21, tradition meets subversion in the signature Undercover manner. High-collared suits with wide-legged trousers are adorned with metallic clips, juxtaposing formality with a hint of anarchy. Workwear-inspired uniforms blend seamlessly with slouchy knits crowned by berets, while tight rocker denim injects a raw, unfiltered edge. The palette oscillates between muted pastels and bold, top-to-toe prints, creating a visual symphony that resonates with the chaos and calm of the year it represents. It is both a reflection of uncertainty and a testament to the resilience and adaptability of the human spirit.

This beautiful camp collar shirt features screen printing reminiscent of porcelain crockeries and is overlaid with the defiant visage of punk legend Johnny Rotten in his iconic beret.
