Takahiromiyashita TheSoloist’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection is a testament to the brand’s avant-garde approach to menswear, seamlessly blending punk rock influences with Western design cues and a deeply personal, almost poetic sensibility. Titled Femme Fatale Fellow, the collection explores themes of technical wear, sharp tailoring, embroidery, and deconstruction.
Miyashita described his SS18 show as having “imagined himself the total wardrobe that he thinks the woman of his dreams would like to see him wearing.”
Since his departure from Number Nine and the establishment of Soloist in 2010, Miyashita has positioned his work as an introspective response to the fashion industry, focusing on deeply personal narratives and unconventional structures. His designs frequently deconstruct archetypal menswear—military gear, workwear, and Western tailoring—transforming them into something uniquely expressive and emotionally charged.
This Flight Cap, constructed in black with extended earflaps and adjustable straps, reinterprets classic aviator headwear through Miyashita’s distinct lens of rebellion and nostalgia.
