Born in Munich, Germany in 1978 to a German mother and a Persian father, Boris Bidjan Saberi’s work is a culmination of multiple backgrounds. This allows him to intertwine all facets of his life into formless garments that stem from his biographical identity and personal interests — including skateboarding, Middle Eastern clothing, numerology, and hip-hop.
“I put a lot of emphasis on my clothes as a little boy and was always dissatisfied with what there was to buy. So I started changing things.” That impulse, inherited from a grandfather who tailored with intention in Iran and parents who made clothes from start to finish, became his foundation. He launched his own label in 2007 after creating small leather accessories under the name UCANFUCKW.
Boris Bidjan Saberi’s garments strike a fine balance between design and experimentation with his design language focusing on structure and process. Every element, from seams to construction methods, is deliberate. Often pushing the boundaries of materials and silhouettes with his brutalist and tactile techniques, his work explores how garments perform and evolve through wear, rather than relying on immediate visual appeal.
This Spring Summer 2013 24H weekender bag is the first iteration of the series. It is constructed from overdyed black horse leather, which softens and smooths with travel and use. The bag features front zip enclosures, adjustable body straps, and a two-way carry.
