SS12 Limi Feu Outlined Coat
SS12 Limi Feu Outlined Coat
Daughter of the dark avant-garde designer Yohji Yamamoto, Limi Yamamoto is a womenswear designer who stepped away from her father’s footsteps—but for the better.
While Yohji’s work adopts a romantic and philosophical approach, Limi’s designs exude a youthful energy, often nodding to rebellion and street culture. Despite her admiration for her father, Limi carved out her own voice and vision, creating designs that resonate with a new generation of fashion enthusiasts.
Limi Feu opened her Spring/Summer 2012 collection with a message to the world’s doctors, imploring them to save the children of Japan—a sentiment deeply tied to the aftermath of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and its profound impact on the nation’s future till today.
It is not a Limi Feu show without oversized yet sensual garments, and SS12 was no exception. The collection paid homage to modern-day rebellion, drawing inspiration from the rockabilly subculture, a post-war movement that symbolized freedom and defiance.
Limi reimagined this spirit of rebellion through a myriad of motifs: mismatched panels, semi-sheer tops, elegantly cut dresses, and perfectly slitted skirts. A subtle rejection of the traditional women’s dress code.
This gorgeous dress coat from the collection features bold, playful squiggly trims that outline its structure.
