SS06 Comme Des Garçons Homme Plus x The Rolling Stones Patchwork Pants
The Spring/Summer 2006 collection from Comme Des Garçons Homme Plus, titled “Lips and Tongue,” is one of the brand’s most iconic and sought-after releases, paying homage to the legendary rock band, The Rolling Stones.
The collection showcased an array of vibrant, bold pieces that captured the rebellious spirit of rock ‘n’ roll. In a backstage interview, Rei Kawakubo displayed her inner rockstar, stating, “Rock is the symbol of energy and rebellion.”
A striking feature of the collection was the prominent use of The Rolling Stones’ logo, appearing repeatedly on blazers and pants. Its graphic repetition evoked the subversive culture of the 60s and 70s, reminiscent of the loud, trippy design motifs found on acid blotter tabs from that era.
These patchwork pants were featured on several runway looks and include faded wash panels juxtaposed with iconic floral, polka dot, and logo print.
