No brand blends wearables and conceptual ideas quite like Undercover, and its Spring/Summer 2004 collection stands as a prime example. The collection’s clothes were meticulously crafted, with its overarching themes firmly stitched into every garment.
Titled "Languid," the collection featured pairs of identical twins walking down the runway, each pair wearing similar outfits with a twist: one appeared normal, while the other was distorted and droopy. This contrast offered a commentary on perception and reality.
The collection made a statement on world conflicts, with its dark, moody palette and thought-provoking texts like "Violence invites violence," "Silly to kill," and "Who wants to be a soldier." Some interpretations suggest that the distorted garments symbolized the fatigue and frustration caused by warfare.
However, a more popular and less morbid interpretation is that the parallel clothing reflects the contrast between how others perceive us versus our own self-perception.
This soft jacket is crafted from chambray, closely resembling denim, and features contrasting keyhole buttonholes and pre-faded front panels.
