Number (N)ine’s SS01 collection titled “Time Migration,” is a delicate dance of traditional menswear and Tokyo street style. Loosely based on the passage of time and decay, which is made clear with the heavy use of skull motifs. They appear in graphics, linings in garments, and in jewelry. Another heavy reference would be from comedian Andy Kaufman, who can be seen on a couple of the staff tee shirts, and is also referenced in the Milk & Cookies graphic. The best use of combining the themes of comedy and death is the “School of Visual Comedy” logo. Here it can be seen on a jacket with a urethane paint coating that allows it to deteriorate over time.

The SOVC logo has become popular to people who are just getting into Number (N)ine, but what really draws people into this collection is the amazing quality and wearability of the garments.
