Rebuild by Needles x Levi's Motocross Patchwork Denim Jeans
Rebuild by Needles, a line from the Needles brand founded by Keizo Shimizu in 2012, focuses on breathing new life into old garments. By deconstructing and stitching together different parts, the line creates imaginative takes on wardrobe staples, extending their lifespan through sustainable and innovative design.
Its predescessor — Sonic Lab was founded in 2002 with the same design ideologies. Sonic Lab was focused on creating military, workwear inspired garments in an American Casual style for the everyday person. It helped paved the way for designs present in the current Rebuild by Needles lineup.
In Spring/Summer 2015, Needles took apart regular Levi’s denim as part of its Rebuild program. This upcycled, cut-and-sew project, characterized by a raw DIY aesthetic, returns in a motocross and biker-inspired capsule. Patchwork is used not only for style but to reinforce high-wear areas of the pants.
This pair of heavyweight denim features overdyed patchwork panels on the pockets and knees.
