Limi Feu Ruffle Snap Buttons 2 Way Bag

“When I design, I’m that woman I always wanted to see in the clothes.”Limi Yamamoto, better known as LIMI feu, emerged in Tokyo in 1999 with a clear sense of identity. The daughter of Yohji Yamamoto, she inherited both technical precision and the challenge of working under a towering legacy. The name “feu,” meaning “fire” in French, was her declaration of independence. Limi built her label on realism rather than fantasy, designing for women who live in the city instead of the runway.

Comparisons to Yohji Yamamoto are inevitable, yet Limi has long made clear that her perspective is her own. Yohji’s world is rooted in abstraction and emotion, while Limi’s is urban and tactile. She designs from lived experience, guided by intuition and rhythm rather than theory. Where Yohji’s women glide, Limi’s walk fast, smoke cigarettes, and wear their strength casually. In her own words, being a woman gives her a deeper understanding of how clothes should move, feel, and empower.

Her design language is built on monochrome palettes, generous volumes, and asymmetric silhouettes. While her work reflects elements of her father’s aesthetic, Limi’s world is defined by attitude and motion. She blends punk and street influences with sharp tailoring, using contrasting hardware and unconventional cuts to create a sense of tension and rhythm. Many of her designs can be worn in more than one way, allowing wearers to adjust, layer, or transform each piece to reflect their individuality.

LIMI feu’s rise mirrored the energy of early 2000s Harajuku, when independent designers, stylists, and musicians blurred the lines between street and art. By the time she debuted in Paris in 2007, she had already cultivated a devoted community in Tokyo. More than two decades on, her brand stands as a rare example of a Japanese label that bridges craft and counterculture, balancing the discipline of tailoring with the spontaneity of streetwear.

This two-way bag from LIMI feu captures that duality, merging an abrasive, punk voice with soft layered frills. The studded snap button straps allow the wearer to adjust the length freely.
