Le Grand Bleu Distressed Denim Jacket
Le Grand Bleu Distressed Denim Jacket
Le Grand Bleu, or LGB for short, is a Japanese label founded by Nobuhiko Satoh in 1999. The brand is celebrated for its Americana influences and handmade denim pieces, often frayed and tattered to embody its signature rockstar aesthetic.
Operating under the Maniac Corporation alongside its sister brand If Six Was Nine—also created by Nobuhiko Satoh—LGB rose to prominence within Harajuku’s rebellious fashion scene. At its peak, Maniac Corp operated three brick-and-mortar stores hidden in plain sight. For instance, Bedrock, located in Omotesando Hills, was tucked behind the Forbidden Fruit Cafe. In addition to LGB and If Six Was Nine, they carried brands like Ann Demeulemeester and Rick Owens, to name a few.
The two brands legitimized street fashion in Harajuku and became cornerstones of the Japanese avant-garde movement. Over time, LGB’s gritty, deconstructed style has influenced newer labels, such as the TikTok-famous 14th Addiction.
This denim jacket features heavily distressed detailing, extreme wash treatments, and purposeful fraying throughout.
