Haider Ackermann Asymmetrical Cropped Blazer
Haider Ackermann Asymmetrical Cropped Blazer
Crafted by fashion's most prolific designer — Haider Ackermann.
Known for his delicate drapery and intricate designs, Ackermann’s precision in clothing was evident from his formative years. He enrolled in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1994 but struggled to complete his coursework due to his relentless pursuit of perfection. However, everything fell into place when he interned for John Galliano shortly after being expelled from the academy. Four years later, he launched his eponymous brand, which has since become beloved by many.
Haider Ackermann was approached by Martin Margiela and Dior to helm their houses. Even the late Karl Lagerfeld went on record saying he believed Ackermann would be a worthy successor at Chanel.
However, Berluti came knocking on his doors in late 2016 which sparked a deep curiousity within himself (previously only working on Womenswear) and boy did he serve some of the most exquisite garments during his 3 season in the 120-year-old French label. Despite juggling his tenure at Berluti, Ackermann never stopped working on his own brand which he was unfortunately exiled from during the pandemic.
In recent news, Ackermann had a spectacular Jean Paul Gaulter Couture takeover in Spring/Summer 2023 by honoring JPG's immaculate couture tailoring. (An initiative by JPG who, upon his retirement in 2020, invited designers from across the fashion realm to guest-design under his atelier.)
This beautiful cropped jacket features a blend of cupro and viscose acetate, along with a clasp to transform the garment’s shape.
