Takahiro Miyashita reconvened with Suicoke once again to create an unorthodox and freaky~ footwear for his Fall/Winter 2021 collection, setting the stage for the rise of “gripper” shoes in his subsequent collections
Titled “Re”, the exclusively monochromatic collection draws deep inspiration from music and film. The hybridization of influences resulted in shapeshifting garments with a punkish, and piratical overtone — a byproduct of the urge to innovate during the pandemic.
Garments in this collection also featured two dangling straps for tops and three for bottoms which together represents the five lines of a musical stave.
These sneakers feature a grippy Vibram outsole and a suede upper with breathable mesh for ventilation. Perfect for the sweltering summer heat.
