AW98 Undercover Exchange Small Parts Peacoat
AW98 Undercover Exchange Small Parts Peacoat
Undercover’s Autumn/Winter 1998 “Exchange” collection was built around an ingenious concept: modularity. Simple in theory yet complex in execution, this idea allowed consumers to fully customize their own clothing, and it became a recurring theme across subsequent seasons. (In retrospect, it was a brilliant marketing move as well.)
Each garment is fully interchangeable with other pieces from the small parts lineup, allowing one to affix parts of jumpers, knits, coats, denim jacket, and puffers to one another, and Frankenstein together their own unique outputs.
An explanatory booklet was also released with the collection, created in collaboration with Futura. His iconic Pointman characters were depicted wearing the mismatched garments, while the pamphlet documented the original 12 pieces in the first "Small Parts" series and detailed Jun’s creative process for the collection.
This beautiful wool peacoat is part of the OG 12-piece lineup and features 8 interchangable panels.
