For Comme Des Garcons Homme Plus Autumn/Winter 2023, Rei Kawakubo presented a harmonious mix of classic CDG tropes in 38 vastly different looks.
The collection began by exploring the visceral connection between human anatomy and garments, expressed through sculptural tailoring. Jackets with extra sleeves dominated the runway. Broad-paneled drapery were concealing shoulders, and voluminous pads on outerwear placed extra emphasis on the upper torso before transitioning to a more contemporary tailoring.
Looks featuring reconstruction and deconstruction followed. With precision cuts and zippers placed in unusual positions.
Jackets and tees featured an animalistic faux fur fringed cut out, allowing the graphic beneath to peek through. Bright pastels, checkered patterns, and shiny textiles soon followed, accompanied by the iconic Comme Des Garçons text we all know and love.
This particular tee, featured in look 32 of the show, showcases large faux fur punched holes. Perfect for showing off your shirt underneath.
