Jun Takahashi delves into Japan’s rich history of aristocratic samurai warriors, who played pivotal roles in shaping the country’s political and cultural history, for his Autumn/Winter 2020 collection.

The co-ed Autumn/Winter 2020 collection was titled “Fallen Man”, referencing the fall of the protagonist in Akira Kurosawa’s film — Throne of Blood. Garments were emblazoned with scenes and motifs from the film.

This collection heavily featured a variety of Jun’s modern interpretation of the traditional silhouettes of the Bushi. Haori, Noragi, Hakama were all served with Jun’s strong use of mismatched buttons, plaid, drape, and monograms. Fabrics were also folded and manipulated to mimic the layered armor donned by the warriors.

This nylon long coat prominently features Throne of Blood motifs on both the front and back.
