AW16 Issey Miyake Man Tornado Sarouel Pants
After a three-season hiatus, Issey Miyake Man Autumn/Winter 2016 returns with an exploration of nomadic life.
Issey Miyake is often known for its billowing, accordion pleats, but in collections directed by Yusuke Takahashi, pleats are notably absent.
Yusuke Takahashi focuses solely on garment technology that Miyake Design Studio pioneered. In line with the theme titled “Neonomad,” the collection featured clothes specially woven with horsehair and dyed in vibrant colors, inspired by the disparate and primitive culture of nomads. Fabrics used in this season were innovated to be wrinkle-free, form-stabilizing, and highly functional.
Kenji Hirasawa’s thermochromic imagery of horses were printed on garments. Creating a psychotropic effect on the wearer’s body.
These wrinkle-free cropped wrap pants feature the aforementioned Hirasawa thermal print and a rayon, nylon, and cotton blend, making urban traveling stress-free.
