SS17 TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist MA-1 Bomber Jacket
In mourning the death of David Bowie, Takahiro Miyashita dedicated his Spring/Summer 2017 show to spotlight Bowie’s various stage personas. This collection also included collaborations with Tsuyoshi Nakano’s Skoloct and the late legendary shoemaker John Moore.
Skoloct has long been a prominent figure in the japanese streetwear game. With notable collaborations with Pharrell William and Nigo’s Billionaire Boys Club, Stussy, Hysteric Glamour, Undercover, and more. Soloist SS17 featured prints of the bunny-eared creature and masks that transformed the models into the Skoloct.
In true Miyashita fashion, the collection was both an ode and farewell to one of the most influential figures in his formative years — David Bowie. All-black looks mourned Bowie’s passing, while flamboyant, bold ensembles paid homage to his iconic stage persona, Ziggy Stardust.
This perfectly cropped aviator jacket features a raw ribbed hem that frays with each wear.
