Comme Des Garcons Homme Plus The Rolling Stones Striped Shirt
Regarded as one of the most pivotal collections by Comme Des Garcons Homme Plus, the Spring Summer 2006 runway titled “Lips and Tongue” pays tribute to the legendary rock band The Rolling Stones and the Tongue and Lips logo created in 1970 by Jon Pasche.
The collection greeted us with flamboyantly loud and colorful clothes. This energy was gracefully embraced by Rei Kawakubo in her backstage interview: “Rock is the symbol of energy and rebellion.”
The repetition of the Tongue and Lips logo on blazers and pants is reminiscent of the unofficial design of acid blotter tabs found in the 60s and 70s.
This runway shirt features a red and white stripe motif with a large red Tongue and Lips logo plastered over the right breast pocket.
