Founded by Hiroki Nakamura in 2000, Visvim takes great pride in its garments by using the highest quality materials and making them as environmentally friendly as possible.
In their dissertation published in 2017, the Visvim team showcased their meticulous process of sourcing materials, concepts, and production, as well as their core ideologies behind each step of their clothing.
Visvim takes its cotton very seriously, sourcing it from Sunny Belize, also known as Sea Island Cotton. Each plant is harvested by hand to ensure that the cotton doesn't get damaged. Originally used as fabric to make parachutes due to its largest amount of twist per inch out of all cotton strains, resulting in a fluffy texture and excellent absorbency and material resiliency.
