SS02 Maison Margiela Denim Jacket
SS02 Maison Margiela Denim Jacket
Maison Margiela Line 6 was created in 1997 as part of the 0 to 23 label. While serving as a more affordable option compared to Line 1 and Line 10, Line 6 revolved around the transformation of everyday garments, focusing on modularity, functionality, and innovation. During its formative years, Line 6 often referenced Margiela’s other lines while exploring different material weights and reinterpreting classic shapes.
As the Maison grew larger, emerging designer Sebastien Meunier took over and managed Line 6 between 2000 and 2005.
Transitioning away from the signature four stitches, Margiela’s Line 6 was rebranded as MM6 in June 2004, with labels stitched in a straight line across the top. In 2009, Maison Martin Margiela’s name changed to Maison Margiela when Martin departed from the brand. MM6 became a logomaniac diffusion line thereon after, recycling some of his most iconic and groundbreaking designs till date.
This medium-weight denim jacket features contrast stitching, oversized pockets, and concealed buttons.
